This machine is not for the feint of heart. It's unruly and unpredictable. You can simply use it as a subtle processor for the buttery cream of the filter stage and plug an expression pedal or CV source in to sweep it (or let the envelop follower do the sweeping for you). But the 'Blaster shines when you unleash the tone generating noise oscillators and let 'er rip. It never sounds the same twice which is glorious.
This particular unit also has a custom flamed maple box. The original units came housed in a plastic lunchbox. I had previously cut the lid off of said lunchbox to create more space on my table top. But being a finish carpenter by trade I eventually built a box deserving of the electronics and finished it with three coats of clear satin polyurethane. The bottom of the new box has vent holes drilled to allow for air cooling, as recommended by the manufacturer Eric Barbour. I've used this unit lightly in my non smoking home studio. It's serial #95 and I believe only 100 total were ever made. Soon it will undoubtedly achieve collector's item status."
