OB-6 does Max Richter

"Max's 'Dream 13 (minus even)', performed on/arranged for OB-6.

I omitted the A section repeat; I feel it works well without it.

The original is actually a cut & paste job - the cello part is a single take dropped in (piano part is also cut/paste at repeat points - you'll hear it on the original if you listen closely). I wonder if the cellist was paid to record only two notes, or was paid for each time the sample is used! Short recording session, for sure!

Bass sounds good. I'm intentionally emphasising the upper-end fizz of the SEM filter on the bass part, as it's such a distinctive sound.

Taking an acoustic work and giving it a synth arrangement such as this certainly isn't for everyone, but that's ok - it is just some fun :) Plus, as always, the Obi sounds great.

All best
Kris"

Max Richter - Dream 13 (minus even)

Published on Aug 10, 2015

"Acclaimed Britsh composer Max Richter has written a new landmark recording: SLEEP is 8 hours long – the equivalent of a night’s rest – and is actually and genuinely intended to send the listener to sleep. 'It’s an eight-hour lullaby,' says its composer, Max Richter.

The ground-breaking new work is scored for piano, strings, electronics and vocals – but no words. 'It’s my personal lullaby for a frenetic world,' he says. 'A manifesto for a slower pace of existence.'"
