Inside a TAMA Techstar TS305-6

Some pics in via jph, listed here.

  1. lol! good luck i bought a complete working 305 for $160usd

  2. yeah, me too actually!

I was driving out in the county and randomly stopped at a yard sale,. the dude had the whole kit 7 or 8 pads, the snare (w/ 2 triggers, one for rim), the kick pad, and both the ts-305 and ts-306,. apparently Uncle Leon's Funk Band had gone defunct some years back, and this all had been stored in a barn since. I attempted to just get the synth boxes off him,. alas to no avail. The only way he would sell was together,. I could see a bit of water in the bottom of the plastic bin the pads was in and pointed out that it had rained on them. He said "yup been out here for a few days,.." so I got him down to $150, and took it all.

My brother, and hence his kids, play an old kit in the basement so I shifted the pads, hardware and the TS-305 to him,. however I swapped out all the voice cards so now this TS-306 has Snare, Base, Rim, Tom, Synth, and Clap,. I'll be keeping that one for a while, I am building a sequencer from an arduino for it.

I sent one of the TOM cards to Leonardo Laguna Ruiz of Vult fame (VCV Rack module coder), for him to look at while modeling these old analog circuits. This one is up for grabs, but only at the price I think it is worth to me,. guess it is for someone who really wants it. ( I would ship it for that price! )

I suppose the moral of the story; stop at more yard sales.

  3. note; my price is in Canadian Dollars,. google says; that equates to $226.20 United States Dollars.

  4. great price you'll be banking soon my friend!
