This is not a brochure, but rather it is clip-art. From a time before computer desktop publishing, when ads were hand-made, piece by piece with hot wax on light tables. Choose the size and view you like, clip it from this sheet (hence the name clip-art), and 'glue' it down with hot wax to the main ad sheet. Add text to complete the ad. Wax allowed heating to effect changes and re-positioning of add elements when required. Then the resulting piece was shot by a stat camera for the print plate.
ReplyDeleteMfrs. would provide these clip-art sheets of their products to distributors which promoted consistency in their brand image, and goodwill with the sellers.
How times have changed since then!
