"SOUNDMIT 2020 and TORINO SYNTH MEETING: 10 YEARS OF SYNTHESIZERS UNDER THE MOLE ANTONELLIANA

The Soundmit and the Torino Synth Meeting are preparing to celebrate 10 years of activity together by announcing a 2020 full of surprises!

The dates of the next international exhibition dedicated to synths, electronic musical instruments, and new technologies are already set.

The event will always take place in November but the dates change a little, the Soundmit moves from the first to the third weekend of the month that the City of Turin dedicates to contemporary art, to consolidate international and institutional collaborations. So schedule the dates for Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 November 2020 right now!

The Soundmit 2019 closed on the rise with a turnout of 1200 paying visitors, 180 operators in the sector, 55 brands on display with 12 countries represented, over 30 hours of workshops and showcases and 7 live shows during which we celebrated the 100 years of the Theremin.

The presence of foreign journalists was very strong, in fact, there are over 60 videos published by Sonic State, Gear Junkies, Ask Audio and BoBeats.

During 2020 the Soundmit and the Torino Synth Meeting will be part of some of the most interesting events of the year.

Among these, we are pleased to announce that the Soundmit is a partner of the XXIII Edition of the Colloquio di Informatica Musicale organized by the Polytechnic School and of the SMC2020 - Sound and Music Computing Conference which returns to Italy after about ten years. The two events will take place between June 20th and 26th and will see the presence of international researchers, teachers, and artists.

The main theme is Imaging sound and is meant to address the relationship between (moving) image and sound via the many expressive and technological relations that the two entertain in audiovisual and multimedia contexts. Imaging sound thus involves both the need to model sound in relation to multimedia content and, vice versa, the possibility of shaping those contents on audio features.

This year's SMC is organized by the Turin Polytechnic, the University of Turin and the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory of Music in collaboration with the Soundmit.

We will be present by our French cousins at SynthFest France in Nantes together with EMEA - Electronic Music Events Association on 22/23 and 24 May and you will be able to see us around the Superbooth from 23 to 25 April.
