In-Depth with a Vintage ARP 2600 Semi-Modular Analog Synthesizer

Published on Jan 3, 2020 Perfect Circuit

"In this video, we provide a functional walkthrough of the iconic ARP 2600, complete with patch examples and a blow-by-blow walkthrough of the panel. To read more about ARP's history and the 2600, check out our Signal article here: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/signal...

The 2600 is one of the first semi-modular synthesizers, which means it provided musicians considerably greater ease of use than with the prior gargantuan modular systems, all without sacrificing any sonic potential. Used by musicians such as Stevie Wonder, Edgar Winter, Joe Zawinul, and even used to create the voice of R2-D2 in Star Wars, the 2600 has permeated popular culture with its bubbling sound effects, soaring leads, and thumpy, huge bass lines.
