Carnegie Hall Archives

Published on Feb 22, 2020 CatSynth TV

"We visit the Carnegie Hall Archives in New York and talk with Kathryn Gronsbell (Digital Collections) and Rob Hudson (Manager) about some of their twentieth century treasures. We explore artifacts from avant-garde classical and jazz, including a concert by Leon Theremin 1928, the premier of Edgard Varese's Ionisation, Yoko Ono, Freddie Hubbard, Archie Schepp, Ornette Coleman, and even the 1992 premier of Conversational Impromptu for Bb and bass clarinet quartet by CatSynth TV host Amanda Chaudhary.

For more information about the archives and the history of Carnegie Hall, please visit https://www.carnegiehall.org/About/Hi....
Please also check out their growing digital collections at collections.carnegiehall.org"
