Always comes up, and I'm always poor.
ReplyDeleteI ordered something around $4800 once from this guy on Reverb. Nearly instantly, he sent me a tracking number to a "label created" (to get the money). He immediately sent an email saying he was out on vacation for family matters, and would I mind waiting 3 weeks and when he got back he would get it out quickly. I said "ok" (feeling a scam coming). During the 3 weeks he would post new instruments. At the end of the 3 weeks, nothing was happening with my order, so I asked for a refund. He said ok, and then kept not refunding me with a series of excuses and refund-goofups, like he has never refunded before. I charged-backed and got my money. I think he just didn't actually have it, and was getting it. I won't bother doing deals with Vintage Standards anymore. You should at least talk to him before you buy (unlike me), so you can shorten the time-table. He eventually re-took images of the synth I bought, I'm guessing that's when he received it.
