"THE WINNER TAKES IT ALL": ABBA Mini Cover On Legendary Korg Prophecy Synthesizer (1995 Model)

Microflat

"This video will demo the legendary 3-octave Korg Prophecy solo synthesizer (25 years old) by use of three default patches in a mini cover of ABBA's major 1980 hit "The Winner Takes It All". A stunning song that I simply love even though the lyrics are quite sad.

I used patch "A39 Neo Bell" for the choir voice, "A53 Mini Korg 700s" for the melody and "B07 Glass Toy" for the structure fill. Tempo is 126 BPM.

Video clips were recorded in 4K (60 fps) on a Panasonic Lumix GH5 and edited in Adobe Rush. Audio was recorded in 96 KHz 24 bit on a Solid State Logic 2+ thunderbolt 3 audio interface straight into Propellerhead Reason 9. FX like a bit of reverb, chorus, dynamics and mastering has been added to the B07 patch in post-production in Adobe Audition in order to imitate the orginal song's piano-driven 'wall of sound'."

  1. For one of the world's most progressive keyboard inventions, they sure go unrequited today. There are a dozen on eBay waiting for new owners to adopt them.
