Sequential Pro 3 Patch Morphing Demo

video upload by Synthetic World 859

"This is a little jam utilizing the patch morphing feature of the brand new OS I mostly used it to change the delay time, feedback, and reverb predelay, but it also brings the mixer section back home.

I used two square wave LFOs to create arp-like effects within the sequence controlled by the mod wheel. The touch slider affects the noise level, filter cutoff, filter drive, filter envelope release, and more tuning from the square LFOs.

Overall this jam felt a lot like what I do with my modular systems, which is pretty amazing considering it's 'just a mono.' It's the combination of great bones-basic sound, a strong sequencer, modular-level modulation matrix, lovely FX, and enough performance controls to get into a flow.

The update also introduced some clicking into the signal path when some of the FX are applied. This issue was basically immediately fixed in OS (released only a couple hours after, but I made this video before downloading the update me crazy but I think the clicks added a nice little bit of dimension here, so I'll take it."

  1. "Does it even need a keyboard?" Of course not. Why should anything have a keyboard? Melody obviously means nothing anymore. The important thing is mind-numbing repetition of mechanically generated noise.
