"Here's the first Radiophonic Four, a 3x60HP eurorack format modular synthesiser with a laser-cut, hand-laminated, gunstock finish walnut frame. This system has four oscillators, three envelope generators, three waveshapers (more if you count the mixers and sample hold!), two filters, and plenty of utility modules. If you are confused by anything in the system, feel free to go to the "Racks" section of Modulargrid Dot Net and do a search for "Radiophonic Four" and you'll see details for each module in this instrument.

I built this as an attempt at a comprehensive voice. It's beautiful but there are things i will do different in the next one, so I am calling this "the prototype." It will be the only one built exactly this way.

A note about the wood finish: this has five coats of pure tung oil and that's it. No varnish or polyurethane, so if you scratch it, just rub a bit of oil into it and it's fine. Power supply is obviously included but not pictured, as are 10-32 knob screws for the legs in case you want to break it down and set it up quickly for a gig."
