"Fully restored/serviced Roland JD-800 with a road case. This was not a quick once over, well over a dozen hours went into completely rebuilding this synthesizer. The future owner of this JD-800 will NEVER have to worry about the red glue issue or a ribbon cable heat seal failure again! These two issues plague nearly all JD-800s and this one was no different. So we replaced the entire key contact circuit board with a brand new replacement by SuperSynthProjects (see photo). A replacement ribbon cable connector board was also installed. The red glue was completely sealed with a thick layer of two part epoxy and the key bed feels amazing. This JD will never suffer from the dreaded red glue issue again!

***Additional service/restoration work completed:

-Every key was removed and individually cleaned, every key spring was reshaped and lubricated, every key bushing was re-lubricated, every key contact pad was cleaned with 99% IPA. The entire key bed chassis was cleaned.

-Some minor rust spots (which 99% of vintage synths have to some extent) was sanded and treated.

-The power supply was fully recapped. All solder joints were reflowed.

-All major solder joints on the audio/midi I/O board were repaired and reflowed (sketchy outputs are very common on these JDs).

-Every single panel (slider and button) board was removed and cleaned, every plastic slider and button cap was removed and individually cleaned, every slider and button contact was cleaned with MG 404B, every slider was re-lubricated with Deoxit F100. Please see the close ups of the panel boards being cleaned. One shot shows 2 boards, one cleaned and one not. The JD-800 sliders and buttons get absolutely filthy over time which causes parameters to jump without actually being pushed/moved. Of course, this gets extremely annoying. Cleaning and lubing these boards is a very time consuming process, but is well worth it. We have 4 JD-800s here currently and all 4 suffered from this parameter jumping issue upon arrival.

We have included photos of all of the minor cosmetic defects on this synthesizer. Please see the many photos we've included for a detailed depiction of this unit's condition and the servicing process. This synth has no significant cosmetic defects or cracks, no missing slider caps, etc., all functions work as they should, there are no scratchy sliders or hard to press buttons. We take great pride in our work at Sacramento Synthesizers; vintage synthesizers are our passion. You will not be disappointed with your purchase!

We also have an old road case that we will include in this sale so that we can ensure a safe transit if this synth is not purchased locally. Power cable included as well. Of course, it will also be fully insured. We do not mess around when it comes to packing and shipping vintage gear like this. Please see our feedback as a seller for other buyers' purchase experiences and feel free to ask questions!"
