Comparison #2: how OB-X8 compares to an original OB-Xa

video upload by Oberheim Official

Oberheim Official OB-X8 Comparison posts

"In a second detailed comparison, Marcus Ryle, co-designer of the Oberheim OB-X8 and an Oberheim engineer from 1980 to 1985, walks through a selection of the most characteristic factory presets on his original OB-Xa to demonstrate just how faithfully the new OB-X8 reproduces each one.

Note that this video does not compare every single preset (there are 104!), but it does show some examples that showcase the different filter modes, using the filter envelope to mod pitch, and layered presets.

All examples are recorded direct in mono, without EQ or effects.

The new OB-X8 — true Oberheim sound. Listen and judge for yourself.
