"A quality synthesizer and 40-band vocoder from the classic period of Analog Modelling DSP synths. Contemporary of Access Virus B/C, Roland JP8000, Clavia Nord 2.

Huge potential with a fully-specc'ed oscillator section (incl. 'double saw', similar to Roland's famed 'supersaw'), crisp fast multimode filters, flexible modulation matrix, many effects -per voice-, and no noticable aliasing or stepping.

The spec sheet is mighty impressive: 16-voices, 3 independent oscillators, noise source and 2 ring modulators per voice - makes for 48 oscillators, 32 ring modulators, and 16 noise sources per voice. all combinable in the mixer... 6-part Multis for mixing and layering sounds, coupled with 6 arpeggiators each with about 400 mono and poly patterns, and extensive modulation matrix (130 routings apparently). To cap it off, each voice can have a set of effects applied individually (totalling 42 individual simultaneous effects), you can see the potential for immense complexity. Great Filter Drive too, and bags of solid low-end.

It's rival in the day was the Virus but the Nova is Less agressive, smoother, better filters, especially impressive is the Nova's Filter Drive.

Very neat size, fits snugly in a rack-width shelf - every synth should have Blue LED menus!"
