"This listing is for one ultra-rare Roland CPE-800 Compu Editor. This super rare piece is meant to control a rack VCA bank (not included) for automation of audio signals via CV. As you can see it is from the era of the TR-808 and Jupiter-8 with those beautiful tact switches.
The CPE records slider movements so you can lock the recording automation to a sync track. It works fine, it includes the unit itself and the cable originally meant to connect to the VCA unit; one idea would be to build a box to convert this connection into 3.5mm jacks to control all sorts of stuff. Otherwise, if you want to use this like it was originally intended, you'll either need to find one of the original VCA rack unit or DIY something similar."
You can find pics of the VCA-800 unit here.
