Moog muSonics Sonic V Demo video upload by MOS-LAB
"The sonic V is a synth developed around 1969/1970 by ex Moog employee Gene Zumcheck (the idea of a portable synthesizer had been refused at the time by Robert Moog).
This synthesizer was built by the company muSonics when Gene Zumchek join them, and was released "officially" when the company bought R.A Moog in 1971 under the Moog muSonics badge.
There were less than a hundred units built (mine has serial number 18).
Unfortunately, very few models are still in existence today, making it a very rare instrument. Not having been exported at the time, it was mainly
intended for universities in USA.
Its successor, the Sonic 6 is an improved and portable
version, but with a different filter (Moog ladder filter)
So it doesn't sound quite the same."
Spotted the above video in the listing below. I'm not finding it previously posted so up it goes. You can find additional demos in previous posts.

Only 100 of the muSonic Moog Sonic V were ever made, initially designed by Gene Zumchak, in the late 1960's Gene worked for R.A. Moog. Gene and Bill Hemsath, another engineer at R.A. Moog had tried to convince Bob Moog of the need for an integrated synthesizer that could be used without a spaghetti junction of patch cords. Bob declined to develop these ideas and Gene left R.A. Moog. Following his departure, Gene met Bill Wayena, who claimed to independently have the idea that an integrated synth without patch cables would be of interest to schools and colleges. It seems Gene had already had a design and together with Bill they started shopping this design to others. So technically the Sonic V was designed prior to the minimoog at least based on the research of timelines as far as I can tell, however Bill Wyman did not buy Moog R.A. until late 1970, early 71? which is when these were actually produced.
It took me two years to get this serviced. I have had a new overlay printed for this that matches the original that is peeling off, they were all done this way as it was a prototype. Originally I had planned to restore both wooden cabinet as well, however I know longer have the opportunity to see that to fruition and is now being offered for someone else to decide if and how they want to restore the wooden cabinet. I have not messed with the original overlay, you can see from the photo that both are starting to peel which has haplened to everyone I have ever seen. I will leave it up to the next owner as to whether they wish to install the new overlay or not. I also had a cv/gate device made that will plug right into the s-trig jack on the back of the unit.
I am located in the south eastern part of Minnesota and am happy to try and meet up locally or am also happy to carefully pack and ship the instrument. On that note I have packed and ship many vintage synths of all sizes over the last 25 years of my life so you can reat assured that I know how to do that both carefully and successfully."
