DESCRIPTION (with credit to Soundgas!)
The Toyo Gakki DS-4 comes in three variants. This version is different to the yellow and blue “Custom”, and also the black “Promuzer”. It differs in terms of both sound and function from the other models. Firstly, the tuning on this model is stepped, which makes jumping between notes easy. In addition it has two sustain controls that allow some interesting performance options. Sonically it also differs: this version has a particularly punchy, melodic sound. Add to that the differences in controls allowing all voices to be easily set to different notes and combined and/or de-tuned, and you have something that is definitely much more than just a “drum synth”. It’s possible to get some huge, pulsing basslines and drones from this just as easily as unique percussion sounds.
Split Output Modification: This has been modified with separate outputs for each channel. There are no extra sockets etc as this is done using the DIN socket on the rear plus a trailing lead with four 1/4″ jacks.
CONDITION
There are light marks on the face and the obvious sticker on the case, but other than that it shows few signs of wear. A couple of slider tops have cracked and been repaired. Pads are also generally in good condition."
