"This MX-2000 has undergone a full restoration and works perfectly. While similar to the Roland SH-2000, the Multivox is much more rare, and has its own distinctive sound. It has two oscillators that can be detuned anywhere from a fat unison, all the way up to an octave. If playing fat leads in 4ths or 5ths is your thing...look no further. It sounds HUGE. This truly is a testament to the cool retro vibe of the 1970s - especially with its psychedelic, orange marmalade keyboard. While the key color is a product of 50 years of aging (endemic to this model), we chose to leave them as part of the aesthetic. This is a 9.5 out of 10 cosmetically and functions perfectly. even the end caps are in nice condition and YES...strong enough to pick up the instrument at this point, but I wouldn't recommend it.
This may be the finest example of an MX-2000 out there at this point. This would make a nice addition to any synth collection. It is capable of some really killer leads and is very expressive to play with the aftertouch feature.
Fully restored. Here's what was done:
ALL electrolytic capacitors were replaced on ALL boards.
Power supply rebuilt and calibrated.
All connectors were cleaned.
All switches and pots were cleaned.
All key contacts were cleaned.
Chassis was cleaned.
Outer case was thoroughly cleaned.
Wooden end caps were properly re-glued on with heavy-duty wood adhesive."
