At Bristronica 2024, we caught up with Andre from Blue Catch who introduced us to their new prototype, the Endless Processor. Andre explained that this modular device functions as an endless sound sustainer, capable of processing any audio input, such as an oscillator or sampler, to create a seamless stream of sound. The module mimicked a freeze reverb effect, preserving the timbre and frequencies of the input audio.42. Bristronica 24: Halftime Modular - New Company - New Modules
The Endless Processor featured dual channels with five layers each, allowing you to stack or switch between them to craft complex soundscapes. It supported automation, controlling transition speeds via CV inputs, and came with an expansion for pitch control. Memory storage was flexible, utilizing RAM and an SD card for storing banks of sounds, which could later be exported for further manipulation. Andre mentioned the module is priced at 300 euros, with availability spread across global retailers.

Lucas from Halftime Modular, a new company with a suite of versatile Eurorack modules. Lucas introduced us to three modules currently available: Converge, Pathfinder, and Refiner.43. Bristronica 24: Song Athletics Ruiner Plug-in
Converge serves as a stereo output module, featuring three stereo inputs and capabilities for end-of-chain effects processing. It provides flexibility with options for additional stereo inputs and independent volume control for headphone output.
Pathfinder acts as a multiplexer-demultiplexer, functioning as both a signal router and a four-channel mixer. With its switchable pathways and volume controls, it offers creative routing possibilities for both live performance and studio work.
Meanwhile, Refiner operates as a multi-channel signal processor delivering precise control over CV and audio signals. It includes tools for attenuation, offset adjustments, and slew rate control across its three channels, ensuring precision without tuning discrepancies.

Will from Song Athletics introduced their new Ruiner plug-in. Designed as a comprehensive distortion tool, featuring eight built-in effects, to streamline the sound alteration process without needing multiple plug-ins.44. Bristronica 24: Slate + Ash's Spectres and Cycles
Ruiner includes time-based effects like stutter, and unique granular effects, it also has a classic compressor, Bitcrush, harmonic distortion, and overdrive,
The plug-in features carefully recorded static noise components, to blend in, Ruiner is priced at £20, and offers a simple interface in a vibrant lime green design,
Kai Whiston and Joe Dean from Slate + Ash, introduced us to their sound design instruments, Spectres and Cycles. Spectres incorporates avant-garde techniques, creating intricate collages inspired by musique concrète and tape loops, with built-in sounds from a New York collective of musicians. Designed with granular synthesis in mind, you can modulate and manipulate samples with an array of physical and digital processes.45. Bristronica 24: A Patch With The Joranalogue System
Cycles allows for the integration of your own sound material, providing a versatile experience with its curated bank of modular and acoustic loops. The product capitalizes on the ability to capture and transform hardware audio sources into evolving soundscapes. Cycles also features downloadable content packs, pushing the boundaries of what users can create by blending legacy synths with modern sound design techniques.

Frits from Joranalogue, showed us a modular patch he'd created at the show. He used the Step 8 to create a pseudo-random rhythm, with one contour clocking the step module while sampling Orbit 3 for random voltages. The patch featured a dynamic interplay between kick, snare, and hi-hat, occasionally triggering snare rolls for added complexity. Frits utilized the Generate 3 for noise sources, adding random modulation to the hi-hat's envelope for a human-like groove.46. Bristronica 24: Big T Music's Mutable Open Source Modules
To inject swing, he divided the clock using Contour 1, delaying every second beat slightly. added an acid voice, with the stable snare providing rhythmic stability. The patch was routed through Joranalogue newest module (not the one with Hainbach), Orkolide 4, enhancing it with low cut and delay effects. This comprehensive setup was routed using a switch module.
At Machina Bristronica 2024, we caught up with Gaz from Big T Music - The range includes one-to-one replications of Mutable Instruments' designs, like Veils and Stages, and also unique adaptations such as the Beehive, a compact version of Plaits. Gaz noted that some designs include expanded features with different firmware, enhancing the default functionalities while maintaining a distinct aesthetic.
Their interpretation of Monsoon brings hidden functions to the forefront, thanks to collaborative efforts, including input from designer Jonathan Barnbrook.
