MIRRORPLEX - circuit bent CCTV multiplexer

video upload by LoFiFuture

Note this is a video processing device and not an audio synth. LoFiFuture is a supporting member of the site.

Details follow:

"I only made one of these units and it is available to order here: https://lofifuturestore.square.site/p...

The MIRRORPLEX is based on a 4 channel CCTV multiplexer, a device used to view up to 4 CCTV camera feeds on one screen. In this configuration all 4 inputs are fed the same composite video signal and the user can adjust the settings to create crude mirror effects and adjust brightness, contrast and saturation on each of the 4 video feeds.

10 different circuit bends can be combined in various way via 10 potentiometers. This one is capable of some very complex digital artifacting and posterization effects as well as some rather clichΓ© scrambled analog signal glitches.

Things can be dialled in so things are subtle and detailed or they can be pushed into full chaos. The different arrangements of multiplexed screens come off as quite artistic, you can select what type of border (if any) each feed has and name the feeds via an onscreen title.

The enclosure for this device has been printed on a multi colour 3D printer in PLA. The enclosure was sanded and then polished on all 4 sides to smooth out any layer lines and create a beautiful finish. The text on the front and back has a very fine inlayed look to it.

Specifications:

-Composite video In/out
-NTSC/PAL Compatible
-5-12V DC input (2.1mm Centre Positive) - PSU INCLUDED
-Dimensions 160mm x 100mm x 45mm"

It All Started With An Acoustic Bass Emulation

video upload by EZBOT

"There is something about having both the Digitone II and the Digitakt II together on the tables. Both can do so much but together they can pretty much do anything. The Digitone II is perfect for anything melodic related, chords, basses (even acoustic basses), leads, and percussion too of course. The Digitakt II is the chameleon, it can be anything and do most anything. The power of this sampler is astounding and the workflow is near perfect. In today's episode we make some down-tempo house and show off just how chill these two machines can work together. LED MIDI cables from my shop: https://www.modbang.com/modbang-shop/...

This Is A Great Mono Synth To Pair With Your Sampler

video upload by EZBOT

"In today's episode we are pairing the Novation Bass Station II with the Elektron Digigatk II and Digitone II. One for sampling it and one for sequencing it. The Novation Bass Station is one of the simplest and most satisfying mono synths I've used, I highly recommend it as a first synth, no doubt.

Elektron Digitone 2 Percussion Presets. No Talk Sound Demo

video upload by Anton Anru

"Percussion from the Wreckage. Clank over clap. Texture over purity.
πŸ™ Wasteland Rhythms is a collection of 64 percussive sounds for Elektron Digitone II, crafted to evoke a sonic world where synthetic ruins meet rhythm.
It includes: 17 Percs, 11 Basses 7 FXs, 7 Snares, 7 Kicks, 5 Sequences, 4 Textures, 3 Plucks, 2 Arps, 2 Hi-Hats.

πŸ“¦ Get these presets: https://antonanru.sellfy.store/p/digi...
Created and performed by Moino.

🌌 Imagine broken androids tapping out messages with their worn-out joints. The textures are sharp, metallic, and decayed—yet strangely alive. From glitchy ticks to heavy, body-like hits, every sound feels scraped from a dying factory or salvaged from a forgotten drone.
Inspired by cyberpunk ruins, rusted chrome, and neon-lit wastelands, this pack transforms Digitone’s FM engine into a rhythmic relic generator.

πŸ’Ž Designed for producers who prefer clank over clap, and texture over purity.
Try out all presets on different octaves to unlock unexpected tonalities and rhythmic artifacts. Some patches shift character dramatically—what growls low might tick high.
Ideal for genres such as: Industrial Techno, EBM, Ambient, IDM, Glitch, Noise. Deconstructed Club.

Make sure you are using the latest Digitone II firmware.
πŸ’‘ Compatible with Digitone 2 only. Not compatible with Digitone 1.

“Liar, Liar, 960 Denier!” πŸ˜…

video upload by John L Rice

"I’ve been getting a bit burnt out doing endless video editing lately so when my friend David (Kindred Lost) made a nice cover/demo of his Moog 960 style sequencer doing the bass sequence from Tangerine Dream’s 'Rubycon' and said 'nothing but the 960 can do this' so I fired up my trusty Moon 569 sequencer to see if I could do it too! πŸ€“ David’s demo sound much more 'Moogy' that mine and is closer to the original TD track, I mainly just wanted to see if I could recreate similar patterns. Check out David's video πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜Ž: • Franke and Ruby [posted here]

I used the following modules:
Moon Modular: 569 sequencer
Oakley: Slim VCO B (as VC clock)
Marienberg: Envelope Generator A, VC Sine Phase Oscillator
Noise Engineering: Cursus Iteritas Magnus VCO
STG Soundlabs: Post-Lawsuit Lowpass Filter
Synthetic Sound Labs: Tube VCA, Quad LFO

The Silent Alchemist sound recording test comparison - noise free.

video upload by myVolts

"Need some silence? πŸ˜ƒ
.
At myVolts, we're not just trying to power your gear, we want to give you the best possible audio output too.
.
You may not realise it, but isolation of your power sources keeps your output clean and as you intended.
.
Have a listen (headphones recomended) to our two setups here, the first 30 seconds is USB powered from a standard AC power hub. It's not imposing itself on the sound, but if you listen to that silence at the start, you've got unwanted noise. 😒
.
In the second setup, the noise just isn't there. The Silent Alchemist helped you avoid something you now won't need to clean up afterwards.
.
We're all about simplifying your process, with solutions that just work.
.
Setup info 1:
3 X USB Power ports used
1- Digitakt with 12V Step Up.
2-Korg Volca Drum 9V+ Step Up
Our Crazychain CC47N1 converts polarity and tip size to power the Chase Bliss Onward pedal.
3-Standard USB-C cable takes 5V and Powers the Zoom L6.

Audio setup:
Digitakt connected to Zoom L6
Volca Drum output sent through CB onward into Zoom L6.

Note: we would normally give a mixer/recorded it's own independent power source, this is probably the origin of the noise in the mix. However, with the Silent Alchemist, it's not a concern, isolation means no noise, even when sharing a power source.

Setup info 2:
As above, regarding Audio.
The power setup is slightly different, each device gets it's own USB-C power source, so four in total.
.
If you would like to examine these setups, the screenshots in the video are taken from PowerMyGear, our free web tool for planning your power setup.

The silent Alchemist is on pre-sale now through our website
