How to Make 'Deeper' Grooves in Electronic Music

"Quick tutorial on how to make more complex drum patterns in techno and deep house music, to add more interest to one bar loops.
This may be a bit more geared towards beginners, so please add any tips to the comments as well.
I am using the Sonicware Liven Ambient 0 as a drum machine here, along with the Novation Circuit as a second groovebox, but these tips can apply to any gear and genre.
