"Roland SH-101 (1982-1986), 1-VCO monophonic synthesizer with sequencer.
Compact yet just perfectly sized, plastic but sturdy, simple yet full of useful features. Not only one of Roland company's best looking designs, it is also a rare foray for Roland into 3rd party ICs - Curtis Electromusic's CEM3340 VCO chip granted SH-101 its distinctive rich tone. Needless to say that SH-101 defined the sound of IDM, early house and techno, and still rocks on!
This is a rare blue model that has been carefully serviced inside and out, which included replacing all of the electrolytics, cleaning all of the potentiometers, replacing some unstable sliders, as well as performing general cleaning. All the functions have been tested and re-tested.
The cosmetic condition could have been described as excellent if not for some of the plastic screw posts _inside_ the case. Those are notoriously brittle, but have been restored to the best of our abilities."
