Beyond Equal Temperament
From version 2.5, Octa Comb expands its tuning system beyond standard equal temperament. You can now set the concert pitch freely, including 440 Hz, 442 Hz, or 432 Hz, and switch to Pythagorean tuning as an alternative tonal framework.

This extension is designed with a broader musical perspective in mind. By supporting non standard reference pitches and just intonation based relationships, Octa Comb becomes more responsive to musical cultures that do not rely exclusively on Western equal temperament. It opens subtle but meaningful shifts in resonance, interval character, and harmonic gravity, especially when working with modal structures, drones, or microtonally sensitive material.

Rather than treating tuning as a technical afterthought, Octa Comb integrates it directly into sound design, allowing pitch relationships to shape the spectral behavior of the filters themselves. This makes the device particularly suited for experimental approaches influenced by Eastern musical concepts, ritualistic tonality, or historically informed tuning practices.
