Arturia Polybrute12 - emotional & downplayed patches - no rock n roll or acid house, but lot of love
video upload by copenhagennoiselab
"Seven and a half minuter of me going through a few of my latest patches on the Arturia PolyBrute 12. I have been trying to get into it, by making a few patches every evening, while the family watches tv. And it is weird, I always start with the init patch, which is like the least inspiring init patch I have ever heard. It is just dead. I should really make a new init patch, as I spend a few minutes menu-diving, switching to the same settings every time...
I have a weird relationship with this synth - I don't enjoy working with it very much, but whenever I record it, it just shines in its own grungy way, lofi and vintage way. It just have this wonderful downplayed vintage character (likely because I felt like climbing mountains to get it to sing the way I like it.
Anyway... No talking. Just patches.
The main theme right now seems to be semi-haunting keyboard sounds. It is likely a result of me spending as much time as possible at the moment with DSP development and plugin creation - no time playing the piano. So it is kind of trying to get the same feeling I get when I play piano by myself, but in patches.
No external effects or processing - recorded straight to a Zoom H6 field recorder - so it won't get more true than this.
If you’re here for clean, polite polysynth vibes, this is not that. It never is with me. This is just about feeling, hearts breaking in empty wastelands."
