"Here's a great deal on a working, but unserviced and not perfect ARP Odyssey. This Odyssey was working well enough that I decided it didn't justify giving it the extensive overhaul that I usually give these synths so instead I can pass the savings on to you. If you want a nice restored one, I have a Black & Gold Mk I Model 2800 in my other listings.
Here is a video functional demonstration of this synth that is for sale: https://youtu.be/k2X_wzvRrKY
Items to note:
Could benefit from calibration, particularly noticeable when turning the transpose switch down 2 octaves.
Could benefit from sliders cleaning - They're not stiff or terribly scratchy, but a couple affect functionality (i.e. the ADSR Decay and Release time constants--see the video)
Could benefit from cleaning the switches - some are finicky and the S&H Mixer Noise Gen/VCO 2 switch seems to always be in Noise Gen mode, likely due to a dirty switch.
Could benefit from key contact cleaning
Rear interface and pedal jacks are untested
The paint is stippled, particularly on the rear panel, see photos.
I'm a bit of a perfectionist with my restorations but despite this list I imagine the synth would be very playable and usable as-is by most musicians. The only thing I did to the synth was for safety reasons, and that was to replace the 3 prong power plug where someone had removed the ground pin. Some things we can't let slide..."
