"NEW blackbox 2 – Next Generation of a Compact Sampler Classic with 2X the Power

May 7th, 2026: 1010music unveils new blackbox 2 with features fueled by user requests and the development of the flagship bento sampling production lab.

A new high-resolution color touchscreen lets you load up to four Tracks where each Track can host Loop, One-Shot, Slicer, Shredder or Multisample Instruments. Record sequences in real time by using the touchscreen to finger drum on one-shots or play notes using a virtual keyboard with multisampled instruments like pianos. Or quickly create and edit sequences by drawing notes into the Piano Roll. Plus there’s a new Step Sequencer if that’s your preference.

For more tactile feedback just hook-up your favorite MIDI Controller. Loop lover? Record, edit, and chop samples with high-resolution visual tools. Tear samples apart with the new Shredder. Use new Loop Groups to launch multiple loops for simultaneous playback with bpm sync.

blackbox 2 checks all the desktop sampler boxes for DAWless music production. Plus, with an internal 3-hour battery, just throw it in your backpack and you’re beatmaking at the beach or anywhere inspiration hits!

Like bento, blackbox 2 lets you perform live by triggering Loop Group and Sequence playback on the fly. Play complete songs using Song mode, or a selection of clips as Scenes. New DJ effects, resampling tools, great support for real-time control and generous I/O makes blackbox 2 perfect for DAWless jams and performances. Check out our YouTube video!
