"I was talking with a friend about audio restoration few days ago, and I realized this is how I’ve always thought about it: you can only restore what was once beautiful. If beauty was never part of the original, there’s only so much you can recover.

I feel the same way about electronic music.

For me, electronics are not a substitute for emotion or imagination. They are an extension of them. They magnify what is already there: the resonance of a piano, the sound of hail falling on a balcony, the breath hidden inside a recording.

The real magic isn’t that electronics can create another reality.
It’s that they remind us this one is already full of extraordinary sounds—and that, with imagination, we can transform them into something even more beautiful.
