SILURIA — Modal Patch /// Dark Ambient Soundscape

A dark and atmospheric soundscape created entirely with the #siluria @gechologic , using the Modal Patch from Firmware 1.2.

The Modal engine is inspired by the Mutable Instruments Rings module. It works as a resonator: incoming sounds excite a bank of tuned resonant filters, creating the characteristic ringing, metallic and organic tones of struck objects.

For this session, I took the patch one step further by using the internal FM radio of the Siluria as an additional excitation source. The radio signal is fed directly into the Modal engine, where it is reshaped and revoiced according to the notes and modes being played.

The result is a slowly evolving and mysterious Dark Ambient Soundscape, where fragments of the radio become part of the instrument itself.
