This time it is both preset making and showing off presets.

This video is going through the basic workflow in Currents & Nostalgia - using its two oscillators, the filter and the slot sequencers.

The idea is to give you a feel for how it is to work with the synth and how it sounds.

After making a new preset, which in no way was prepared, I play through quite a few of the other presets with a touch of reverb on the output. I use Geometry Reverb (which is free with any paid purchase from unusable.net). In the patch making section I also use a few other effects from Unusable Engineering on the very end. Ensemble Diffuser which is an analog style modulation plugin, Geometry Delay which is a multi-tap delay and Cavitation Fractures, which is a fluid simulator reacting to sound and affecting sound. (They are all available already).

The synthesizer is based around 2 circuit modelled oscillators based on a sawtooth-core of my own design. It is a quite classic, simple synthesizer design, but brought a bit more to life by two slot sequencers. The top has some discrepancy controls, and other settings for playing style and MPE settings. The bottom bar has the modulators. There are no hidden menus, no modulation matrix. It is built to be rather straight forward to create new sounds with.While it is a virtual analog synth, I think it brings a few new ideas that I hope you will enjoy.

The plan is to release the synth in November 2026. It will be available for Windows and MacOS as VST3i and AU.

Current bundle owners will of course get a discount. But I have not decided on a final price yet.

In the video I run Currents & Nostalgia as an AU plugin in Apple Logic on an MacBook Air M4 using the internal sound-card. The output is recorded together with the speech on a Zoom H6 field recorder. There is no processing going on, except the mentioned reverb and the other effects that are shown in a short segment.
