The DAFM Synth Genesis from Kasser Synths is a desktop FM synthesizer that uses authentic YM2612 or YM3438 chips to create distinctly retro sounds from classic game consoles. With options for either the Yamaha YM2612 or YM3438 chips providing distinct characteristics, these authentic ICs provide creative access to the same wonderfully digital sounds heard in the SEGA Genesis and Megadrive game consoles. In the YM2612, a unique "ladder effect" adds characterful artifacts, while the YM3438 version provides a cleaner output.

Sculpting sounds on the Genesis is easy and intuitive, with two large, clickable encoders that navigate between four OLED displays, providing a screen for each operator that enables convenient FM programming. Four FM operators are available for each of the six voices, along with ADSR envelopes and LFOs for shaping and modulating notes. Flexible sound design is possible thanks to eight different FM algorithms, while the over thirty presets from iconic videogames provide ample material for instant gratification.

An onboard touch keyboard makes thumb-performance possible, while MIDI input allows for control via your favorite controller.
