OXI Coral Firmware 3: Build Your Own Custom Firmware

video upload by OXI Instruments

"With firmware 3, Coral revolves around you. Pick the engines you need, compile your own custom firmware right in the browser, and upload it to Coral in a few clicks.

In this video we walk through the new updater and show some of our favorite new features:

FMX7: our take on the classic DX7. 6 voices, 6 operators, and support for classic DX7 patches from the SD card

OB-va: our take on the Oberheim sound, with unison, detune, and selectable filter poles

String 2: inspired by Solina-style string synths, with a new chord mode

Pianoz: house pianos, Rhodes, and organs

Acid2 and Stitcher, an experimental drone maker (more on this one soon)

On-module options menu: no more editing the TXT file

Drone mode: sustain any engine and shape it with a low pass gate

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Check the release notes and the manual for the full list of new features.
