Reliq - Rlx 1.9.0: Build Your Own Hybrid Instrument

video upload by Reliq Instruments

"A single Reliq track can now play four Eurorack oscillators and an FM synth at the same time. Rlx 1.9 adds Custom Track Outputs: each of a track's eight voices can go to a different MIDI output, CV output or gate, so one track becomes an instrument you build out of the gear you already have. It also brings a redesigned Clip page, Sheet navigation, Clip Loops, freely assignable CV modulation and a Scale Detector.

Custom Track Outputs
Select NEW in the Track Output menu and route each of the eight voices independently, to different MIDI outputs and channels, to different CV and Gate outputs, or to several destinations at once. In the video, voices 1 to 4 go to four Eurorack oscillators on CV A1 to A4 and voices 5 to 8 to an OG Digitone on MIDI OUT 2, which makes one track an eight voice hybrid polysynth. Drum Mode does the same for all 16 drum sounds. Custom Outputs are stored in Reliq and load again on any track or project.

Freely assignable CV
Any LFO or Envelope can now pick its own CV A or CV B output instead of being tied to fixed ones, so a track can sequence several instruments and still modulate something else in the patch.

New Clip page
All 16 tracks at once, with clip names and colours, follow-up indicators, and Arm, Solo and Mute per track. Hold a clip to see its contents and set its colour, Program Changes, Sync and Follow-up settings. Click the encoder above a column to trigger a whole scene.

Sheet navigation and Clip Loops
Push the joystick down to zoom out into the new Sheet view, where each pad is a section of the clip. Hold a Track button to set a loop across steps, whole sheets, or both, and double-tap to switch it on and off.

Scale Detector
Enter the notes you want, click DETECT, and Reliq ranks the scales that fit.
