"Meet Microphone 3 from Critter & Guitari: a battery-powered microphone for collecting sounds wherever you go.

Since it runs on two AAA batteries, Microphone 3 doesn’t need phantom power. That means you can plug it straight into all kinds of gear, like field recorders, guitar pedals, synths, mixers, and audio interfaces. Run your voice through a delay pedal, capture birdsong on a portable recorder, or feed your room straight into a sampler.

The gain knob is where things get fun. Turn it to set the mic’s sensitivity for quiet whispers or loud rooms, or crank it all the way up to use it as a gritty distortion effect.

It mounts on any mic stand or boom, and it’s built with a durable powder-coated aluminum enclosure."
