"This year, a dream came true for me. Two of my Electroplankton videos were part of an exhibition in the museum of the Philharmonie de Paris .

Thank you so much to the staff for making it happen and also Toshio Iwai for creating such joyful music experiences! #Electroplankton #videogames #nintendo #jamuary"

9x Toshio Iwai (Electroplankton, Tenori-On)

9x Toshio Iwai
I love #Electroplankton, partly because the general opinion is that it's not really suited for making serious music with it (see last post). It's an experimental music mpp for the Nintendo DS created by artist Toshio Iwai and published by Nintendo in 2006. The Tenori-On synthesizer in the middle is also made by Toshio Iwai. He even had a brief residency in my hometown as a multimedia artist.
I always wanted to combine Electroplankton with Tenori-On. No sync makes it tricky though ;) I used 2 @myvolts passive mickxers for 2 FX chains with the Korg Mini KP2 and NTS-1, however I had to crank up the recording gain.
