GAME BOY, OP-1 field, MOOD MK II | Pull 2025-04-22 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"A piece created with a Nintendo Game Boy (with LSDj) and OP‑1 field—electronica built from a Game Boy melody, soft‑synth harmonies, and a rhythm driven into delay feedback.
Game Boy: Sequenced in LSDj and processed through the MOOD MK II.
OP‑1 field: Plays the rhythm, which is fed back using the CWO effect.
Harmony: Generated with @SpectrasonicsVIDEO Omnisphere running in @Ableton Live; the track is sent out through an audio interface, processed with @strymon NIGHTSKY, and re‑recorded."

Ambient Beat w/ GAME BOY&LSDj, OP-1 field, Moog One | Silhouettes 2025-02-10 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"A piece created using the Game Boy, @MoogSynthesizers Moog One, and @teenageengineering OP-1 field. A brush-played beat is layered with synth harmonies and a Game Boy sequence.
The Game Boy is sequenced using LSDj and processed with reverb and pitch shifting via @strymon NIGHTSKY.
On the OP-1 field, I perform synth and sampler sounds, processing them through the @ChaseBlissAudio GENERATION LOSS MKII to achieve a lo-fi character.
The drum tracks, played with brushes, are edited in the DAW. Three microphones are used for recording—one on the kick, one on the snare, and one as an overhead. The audio interface used is the TASCAM SERIES 8p Dyna."

GAME BOY, volca fm, Moog One, Field Recordings in Tokyo | Verdant Veins 2025-01-28 by atnr
video upload by atnr
"A piece created using the Game Boy, @KORG_INC volca fm2, YAMAHA MU15, @SequentialLLC Prophet-10, and @MoogSynthesizers Moog One. Gentle synthesizer sounds overlap against the backdrop of Tokyo city sounds.
The Game Boy sounds are processed through @ChaseBlissAudio LOSSY into a lo-fi tone and played back using LSDj, synchronized only in tempo.
The Volca FM2 is saturated through GENERATION LOSS MKII and MICROCOSM while applying reverb effects.
The MU15 has filters and reverb applied using NIGHTSKY.
The field recordings consist of sounds recorded from Tokyo city, including temple bells, bicycle noises, and bird songs. These were recorded with a TASCAM X8."

Gravity Falls // Opening Theme Song [SYNTHWAVE COVER]
video upload by Amie Waters
"I have been watching Gravity Falls with my kid and I absolutely love this show and I am sad I slept on it for so long. What a wonderful cartoon with an amazing theme! Huge shout out to Alex Hirsch for dreaming up such a wonderfully odd show!
For those who will inevitably ask, the gameboy was programmed and then the video and audio were reversed to create the effect you here."

Swamp Flux The Biggest Foot: Nintendo Wii Balance Board to CV Eurorack Module
via Kickstarter
"The Biggest Foot converts wireless Bluetooth signals from the Nintendo Wii Balance Board into control voltages you can use in your Eurorack synthesizer.
The Biggest Foot can record and play back your motions at various speeds or be used live. Playback can be triggered manually or by a CV gate to the Reset input. The module is 10HP and working. Test units are being shown at Superbooth 23 and small synth meets in and around the Carolinas. It still has some bugs to work out, but they are minor enough that it's now time to ask 'would you buy this thing?'
I have spent almost a year researching and developing The Biggest Foot from concept to working prototype through generous Patreon support, but the sum of those donations is rather small compared to how much it costs to get a module manufactured at scale. Using Kickstarter, I'm hoping to launch not just a module, but a business too."

The Nintendo NES MIDI Synthesizer
video upload by MrCaliforniaD
"I built this custom Nintendo NES MIDI synthesizer using a real Nintendo (Model NES-001) and a Famimimidi NES cartridge.
The Famimimidi NES cartridge is an incredibly well developped product that lets you control a Nintendo sound chip via MIDI IN. It's rare that such a product is released to the public in such a stable and complete state.
The cartridge is available for purchase (https://catskullelectronics.com/produ..., but it seems to be out of stock at the moment.
The challenge for this project was to fit everything in a 1U rackmount enclosure.
This project is a one-off, and I don't intend to build more of them. Not for sale. Sorry!"
