Akai MidiMix Live Dub Session | Dub Siren, Delay Feedback & Noise | 13 Min

video upload by Illegal State Of Mind

"A 13-minute live dub mix of my track 'Preamp Heater', mixed by hand on an Akai MidiMix and my noise-making toys: three versions back to back, drifting from roots dub into self-oscillating delay, dub siren and noise.

It starts calm, with reverb and delay throws flying around the drums and bass. Step by step the delays start to self-oscillate, the siren comes in, tiny sample loops stutter at crazy speed, and it all builds into feedback, tension and pleasant chaos. In the final blast the delay feedback turns into helicopters and jets, before the tension finally breaks.

The parts were recorded earlier for the EP. What you see here is the mix, done live: fader rides, mutes, effect sends, plus extra sounds from the siren, the sampler and the synth.
