"This is a style I haven't explored much as a creator, but one I listened to extensively when I was young. It represents a truly captivating evolution of the electronic music that emerged in the nightclubs of the early and mid 80’s.
So, house music was born in Chicago in the early '80s, followed by techno, which originated in Detroit in the mid-'80s. Next came the Belgian 'New Beat' and the UK house music of the late '80s, both precursor to the wider rave movement, and to 'Hard Beat'. Subsequently, to all the European trance of the early '90s.
Dub techno fuses the repetitive, minimalist rhythms of techno with the ethereal, heavily effect-laden production techniques characteristic of Jamaican dub.
