"Produced by the Thomas Organ Company in the mid to late 70s for Moog, it was basically their Cordovox Organ with a Moog Satellite synthesizer built in to it. Nicknamed 'The White Elephant' for its massive size and round shell. Looks like something from a Stanley Kubrick movie, I've kept mine in my living/dining room and it's a constant conversation piece and fun to play with friends. Recording wise the sounds are top notch. The thin metal plate which is along the top row of synth switches is bent slighly and could benefit from being removed and bent back to shape, but it's only attached by a couple of screws. Otherwise some scrapes and marks on the white tolex normal for it's age."

Additional SYNTH CITY Listings
"This synth is working great and has been serviced by our in house technicians. It comes with it's original legs but it is missing the hardware to secure the base. There's some general wear and tear around the entire synth, but for its age it's in quite good nick. The top is a little patchy, but there are no cracks or breaks anywhere on the unit.

"Cordovox Freeman String Symphonizer For Sale. Professionally serviced. This magical string synth sounds like heaven. Built in spring reverb. A rare gorgeous alternative to the popular and overused ARP String Ensemble / Solina. If you're into string synths, this one's a must have. We aren’t normally into string synths here but this one sounds so good that, if it doesn’t sell soon, we’ll probably keep it and use it in our studio."

VSMI - Vintage Synths Made in Italy Live Stream 1/1/22
video upload by VSMI - Vintage Synths Made in Italy
Anyone ID the synth to the top left of the Cordovox Moog White Elephant?
Update: looks like it's a Welson "Symphony" as seen at the one minute mark in The Forgotten Synthesizers Of Marche Region.
Not sure what he's playing on the shelf with the blue panels. Thought it might be a Siel Opera 6, but the spacing is wrong.
Update via gridsleep in the comments: "Blue synth is a Jen Synx 508, featured in the site previously."

1974 Moog White Elephant CDX-0652 Vintage Cordovox Combo Organ & Synthesizer
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
"Up for sale, a 1974 Moog/Cordovox "White Elephant" CDX-0652 vintage dual manual synth/combo organ, fully serviced and optimally functional. A truly one-of-a-kind circuit, the White Elephant is not only a very rare, sonically complex behemoth, it's also a circuit that very few techs will tackle. Thankfully we've wrangled the beast, and to the tune of $1500+ worth of thorough servicing, this Elephant delivers the goods.
A joint venture between Moog and Corodovox, the Moog Satellite synthesizer was licensed by Thomas Organ for a particularly hefty price tag, and Thomas designed a circuit that integrated Moog's synth technology with traditional combo organ features, offered via the Cordovox brand as the CDX-0652. The keyboard was produced in Italy by EME, the same factory responsible for most of Vox's Italian combo organs including the Jaguar and Continental.
The synthesizer voices play only on the upper manual, while the organ voices play on both, with organ and synth sections simultaneously available on the upper manual. The CDX-0652 also includes a batch of 9 preset synthesizer voices which don't appear on a Moog Satellite. The sonic options available are vast, with banks of switches, buttons, and sliders to shape both the combo organ and Moog circuitry. The Moog bass signal can also be accessed on the lower manual and blended with the organ, and the combo organ even has a full percussion bank.

"Fully serviced and 100% working with 60 day warranty for USA buyers. Everything pictured is included.
This is for sure the best sounding string machine I have heard or owned. I have owned A LOT of gear in my life. I sold a Freeman from my collection in 2011 and got positive feedback. I have been an admirer of these machines for a long time. After 25+ years of monkeying around with synths this is the best sounding string machine of all time in my opinion.
This guy works 100%. I recently had it serviced. All controls were cleaned and the keyboard rebuilt. Every aspect of the machine was gone over by a trusted tech and anything that needed to be done to make it perfect was done. One thing to note with these is the highest/last octave of the keyboard does not function in the low voice but that is by design.
The original pedal is included, (you almost never find them) the entire machine can be pitched down a major 2nd by pressing the edge of the pedal just like an organ. You can also control the volume. The original detachable lid and clear smoked lucite music easel are included.
The touch vibrato works, the spring reverb works, ensemble mode works, both high and low voices work and can of course be combined. The animation feature works, the sustainer works, the volume, treble, and bass all work.
At some point in this guy's life, someone cleverly placed smoked opaque heavy duty covering on the wood veneer particle board parts of the casing. This was smart because that is the most fragile part of the instrument and if you want to tour with one of these it will for sure get chipped.
The original fully removable keyboard cover is included as well as the smoked opaque music easel. This and the key-cover/lid completely detaches and is often lost (but are included). One clasp on one side doesn't completely line up..."

Roland RE-501 Chorus Echo (Space Echo) vintage tape delay - functionality test from 65Mosrite
via this auction
"The comprehensive restoration included: tuning the Moog and organ section, adjusting all Moog & organ trimpots to proper specs, replacing electrolytic capacitors with various high-quality, long-life 105^C rated caps from Nichicon, Mallory, etc, regluing faceplate and vinyl, lubricating the volume pedal and replacing the aging potentiometer, cleaning all key contacts on both tiers and the bass pedals, re-gluing&painting broken white plastic slider caps (ALL old CDX-0652's have or will soon have white plastic slider caps/knobs on the Moog section that split down the middle from old age/plastic shrinkage), duplicating 1 missing white slider cap (I hand carved it out of solid maple, sanded it and painted in several stages to get the same color, shape, & finish as the rest), cleaning & lubricating all sliders for near-zero noise and good tactile feel, re-soldering critical connections throughout, etc.
You will be happy to know that I've left all the original coupling caps in place for that authentic vintage 70's sound...only the electrolytics needed replacement.
Condition: Mint functional condition and excellent physical condition - couple of blemishes on outer cover (from cigarettes perhaps), some extremely light pitting/rust on chrome legs (rust seems to be stable and is not spreading), small blemish in paint on the bass pedals, scratches and dents on the various faceplates and throughout the unit - all consistent with light use and little to no gigging."

"The original white cover is missing, also the metal legs. The organ portion works (makes noise). All keys seem to function, the slides all move freely. The MOOG top slides are missing their plastic knobs. The MOOG portion (upper keyboard) also make noise and the flip switches on the top panel all move freely. Once again, it turns on and plays normally...for how long is anyone's guess."

m ss ng Murphy - LCD Soundsystem Interview
m ss ng Murphy from m ss ng p eces on Vimeo.
"To assist in the pangs of LCD withdrawal we watched an interview we shot with James Murphy back in the summer of 2006. It was a 30 minute interview which we’ve cut into 9 minutes for your viewing pleasure. Murphy shares his thoughts on musical discovery, the future of taste, artistic value in the face of technology and what he did with our plot device, something."
