"In quite good condition. End cheeks have been replaced and a socket added to the rear connecting the keyboard contacts as some of the keys don't contact well (maybe need contacts sorting out),so in theory another keyboard could be used. I had intended making an interface to render this MIDI controllable,which almost worked. The socket is the remnant of that attempt and connects to the keys and the contact bar. The presets work and the synth section,though some sliders are better than others.

J WIRE Experiments featuring the Marlin Synthetone (JEN) SX2000

Really Nice Audio

"I had the opportunity to experiment with some J-wire alternatives on this old Marlin synth.
We have already swapped some original J-wires with guitar strings over 6 months ago. They all seem to be holding up well. Some of them were tinned as well.
In this video we look at installing cheap 'gold' plated jewellery wire as an alternative.
I will keep this video posted in the future to see which have held up the best."

"This is a rare edition of the italian vintage mono synth JEN SX2000.
It's rebranded Marlin and for what I know it's a brand that distributed the synth in the UK.

This particular unit is in very good cosmetic condition, almost excellent. Very rare to find these cheap italian synth in that condition.

It is also perfectly working because I just serviced it:
- desoldered and cleaned the buss bar and key contacts
- replaced all the IC (and upgrade some with better ones without sacrifying original tone)
- cleaned and lubed all the faders
- calibrated and tuned"
