Hybrid Clone Clapping

Published on Apr 20, 2014 Todd Barton·161 videos

"This is a fairly simple patch which results in some surprisingly enjoyable clapping poly-accented rhythms by just adjusting the 'decay time' and 'note duration' of the 180 Dual Attack Generator. At play are 4 original CBS Buchla modules: 140, 180, 156 and 190. The other 4 are clone/tribute modules made by djangosfire: 110, 165, 191 and 158. Enjoy!
eventually I'll put up a better audio file of this on my soundcloud...standby."

Make Noise Buchla DIY 112d Touch Plates

Published on Dec 26, 2013 djangosfire·154 videos

"Just finished a DIY 'Retro 112d' touch controlled voltage source module.

I modified a set of Makenoise Pressure Points w/Brains for the 'guts'.

Kind of like a mashup of the Buchla 100 series sequencer and an 8 step 112 touch plate.

Now we're gonna have some fun :)"

A Bit of Audio Mangling

Published on Jul 24, 2013 djangosfire·114 videos

"An experiment in destruction of beautiful melodies.

Early 1937 recording processed real-time through a Buchla DIY 200 style clone synthesizer that I built.

Reverb was added via computer plug-in... everything else was one take.

Thank you!"

Buchla Cascading Dream Patch

Published on May 10, 2013 djangosfire·108 videos

"Dreamy, cascading Buchla patch. Electro-Harmonix 45000 set up as a delay. The delayed signal re-patched into the Buchla... the signals from the 45000 are run through a 230e Envelope Tracker, creating little rhythmic spikes that open and close the mix/gates of the delayed signal."

Published on May 6, 2013 DJjondent·195 videos

"Some wonderful buchla 100 & 200 clone modules arrived in the post today care of djangosfire.

This is a basic initial test run of:
158 Dual Sine-Saw Generator; 180 Dual Attack Generator; a 292c, and a 121d - 2D Voltage source distributor.

No effects, just recorded straight into my mixer.

Thanks Adam."

Update:

121D demo no. 2

Published on Dec 15, 2012

"Looking at a question from Buchla Break No. 5: can the OR's settings be modulated? No. But the Attack and Decay settings A and B can be modulated :-) In this case I'm using the Djangosfire 121D joystick module to change the Attack speed on A and B."

Buchla: DIY 158, Delay & Joystick

Published on Nov 21, 2012 by djangosfire
"Breaking in a new DIY Buchla format "Retro 158" dual oscillator that I just made. Also testing a one-off Buchla format Joystick I'm building.

The delay is a Modcan 59a Digital Delay, re-faced with a custom Buchla style panel that I created the artwork for.

I'm using the Joystick module to alter pitch and audio attenuation - as well as pulsing the delay for a sync.

These make up a KILLER sci-fi efx box :)"

buchla 100 clone fun

Published on Oct 8, 2012 by vgermuse

"the first exploration of a lovely set of Buchla 100 clone modules made by djangosfire: 158 Dual Sine-Saw Generator; 180 Dual Attack Generator; 110 Dual VC Gate. First a quick sweep through the oscillator then some wild S&H stuff to show the variety of attacks/decays of the 180 -- no effects just straight into a keyboard amp, and of course (unfortunately) the flipcam mic, ugh. I'll try and get a nice soundcloud track up soon, hopefully you'll get a glimpse of the possible sounds from this rough video. See djangosfire youtube channel here:
