BÖHM SOLIST-S (Böhmat) Analog Groovebox 1974 | Demonstration
video upload by AnalogAudio1
"The Boehm (Dr. Böhm) Böhmat Solist-S Compact is an analog rhythm box / accompaniment from 1974 made in (western) Germany. Great analog sound! Completely analog sound generation, not programmable. But the rhythms and different arpeggios are combinable!
I played it partly with delay (right channel only) and reverb effects (Korg SDD-3000 and Lexicon MPX-500)."
This appears to be the first 1974 model featured on the site. You can find models from 1972 and 1973 in previous posts here.

Elka Wilgamat analog drum machine and synth

"The Elka Wilgamat was an accompaniment unit intended as an add-on to some of Elka's organ line and also as a standalone unit with dedicated 2 octave keyboard. It consists of a rhythm unit, a bass section and a chord section.
All sounds are of course fully analog. It is very similar in features and sound to the Godwin Drummaker, Wersi Wersimatic WM24, Elgam Carousel or Böhm Böhmat.
if you don't know these units check the video I made with a different unit: [previously featured here]
Unit was serviced and is in fully working order. It comes with a custom DIY keyboard and cable. Cosmetic the unit has some scuffs mainly on the case but overall looks very nice."

BÖHM SOLIST - 1972
video upload by Vintage Audio Institute Italia
"This unit is available for sale - if you're interested just shoot us an email at : Vintage dot Audio dot Institute @ gmail.com
Normally we focus on Italian gear but this is such a great little machine we thought we'd venture out a little.
This is the first model Bohm Solist - a mega-early, analog auto-accompaniment unit and drum machine from West Germany.
Comparing the two Bohm Solist models - the S and the 78 - we realized that they're almost identical. The only thing that's added to the next model are a few chord sounds and 4 added bass line variations.
You can watch our demonstration of the Solist 78 here : • Dr. Böhm Solist 78
The Solist machines are essential song-writing tools and offer some great, useful features : great drum sounds, chords and bass lines as well as an arpeggiator, all transposed by the control keyboard.
This video is not really a demonstration but a jam of sorts, with some help from external effects this unit sounds great and is a hoot to play.
Specifications :
The one-octave keyboard controller can only operate one finger at a time - it's not made to be played, but to indicate the desired key to the main, sound generating unit.
The major, minor and 7th and 9th chord options are engaged by pressing the grey side keys and the buttons on the right in tandem with the desired key.
Dr. Böhm named the auto-accompaniment section Böhmat - perhaps a mix of Böhm and Automat - and it has quite a lot going on considering for such an antique device:
1. A bass sound generator of bass lines spanning two bars.
2. 3 chord sounds with 6 rhythmic patterns
3. An arpeggiator figure and a Wah effect for the chords and arpeggiator.
4. Analog drum machine of 24 patterns that are mixable, mute options for most individual drum sounds.
The bass and chords rhythm patterns are unique to each rhythm engaged while the arpeggiator line is a single pattern for all.
The tempo of the Wah-Wah LFO effect follows the main tempo.
The drum section has 24 drum rhythm patterns that can all be played at the same time if one desires. There are mute options for all but a few drums sounds, as well as a snare roll and a single, hard-wired drum fill.

rare birds: Welson Ritmo / analog drum and accompaniment unit
video upload by ohm_studi_ohm
Also see this one from 2022 with a smaller keyboard controller.
"The Welson Ritmo was a accompaniment unit intended as an add-on to some of Welson's organ line. It consists of a rhythm unit, a bass section, a chord section and an arpeggiato section. All sounds are of course fully analog. It is very similar in features and sound to the Elka Wilgamat, Böhm Böhmat and Wersi Wersimatic CX1. They are actually built around the same chipset family (SGS M2xx), but the Ritmo cannot be programmed.
It was never intended as a standalone unit so I built a custom keyboard to make it so.
Unit is very easy and straightforward to use with some nice features: for instance you can play it in "free chord" or 'one finger chord'. In the first mode you need to make a 3 notes chord to trigger the arp sound. With one or 2 notes you only trigger the bass and chord sounds, this make for some nice performance variations. The bass section can be set to 'walking bass', and in this mode you also need 3 notes to trigger the melody.
In 'one finger chord' you play a major chord with one key. There is a pedal input on the back to make the chords minors. I also added a switch on the keyboard to alternate between major and minor chords when playing in the "one finger chord" mode.
Other nice features are "keystart" (obvious functionnality) and 'memory' which holds the played notes (and rhythm). And like almost all the preset rhythm units you can combine different rhythms together."

Wersimatic WM24B Rhythm Keyboard
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
via the seller: "This rhythm keyboard controller is in good/near-mint cosmetic conditions. I don't have the central unit, so I can't verify the functionality. It needs the central unit to be powered and I don't know if it contains a sound generator."
You can find a demo of the full Wersimatic system previously posted here and some pics of the back and inside of one posted here. Based on the mono and stereo outs I'm guessing this should produce audio on its own? Additional information about the WM24B can be found in German here, Googlish here. According to that site, "The many pushbuttons are used to adjust the many bass, accompaniment, and arpeggio variations. As with the Böhmat S, the 2 octave keyboard completes the complete accompaniment machine. But you do not have to, sounds rather modest, but of course this is a matter of taste."
