Befaco FX Boy + Guitar = Fun, Fuzz, Vintage Echoes & More (no talking)
video upload by DivKid
"Straight to the point here, no talking, waffle and ramble ... right into the thick of it with playing guitar into the Befaco FX Boy.
Here's I'm just playing around and letting the sounds dictate what I play. Good fun and good sounds. This is the second FX Boy Fridays video which gives further examples of the FX Boy in different contexts.
If you haven't seen it before see the full demo here" [posted here]

Hot swapping FX circuits with the Befaco FX Boy // CAUTION - there's utter filth in here!
video upload by DivKid
"I really enjoyed making the FX Boy demo for Befaco and have enjoyed using the module since, so as further ideas for the FX Boy came to mind I decided to make FX Boy Fridays (anything for a catchy hashtag! #FxBoyFridays). For now this will be a pair of videos with some extra ideas, starting here with making one riff-y complex modular bass patch and drum beat thing and hot swapping the cards to see what they offer that sound. Short simple and there's some UTTER FILTH in there.
Fulsome FX Boy Demo, give it a watch //" [posted here]

FX Boy eurorack demo | Befaco in Stazma's Gear Talk
video upload by Stazma
"Today i'll be showing you one of the most crazy eurorack module made last year: FX Boy by Befaco.
I'll be using it as an extension of the Doepfer Basic System 3, with it's little friend Voltio on as a sidekick, and I'll process EVERYTHING throught it, in order to create materials to then organise a little session in Ableton Live.
Have fun!"

Instruō - Befaco FX Boy - microPhaser cartridge | All-pass filter tutorial
video upload by Instruō
"Here's something a bit different!
Befaco (https://www.befaco.org/) have launched this very cool module which uses the "game boy" cartridge form factor as a means of hot swapping analogue and/or digital circuitry as effects processors.
I caught up with Manu and Diego at Superbooth23 and learned of this mad idea. I very quickly asked how I could get involved and contribute a cartridge design.
Time was a bit of a crunch.
I set the target of a month following return from Berlin as a timeframe for getting a cartridge production ready.
Challenge accepted!
I believe I had the first two (heavily circuit bent) prototype cartridges in the mail to Barcelona in just over a fortnight.
The last 5 minutes of this video shows a bit of this process designing the first prototypes.
The FX Boy ships with 7 carts in total designed by a wonderful range of creative developers.
I'm very excited to be part of this project.
This video goes through some of the capabilities of my microPhaser effect and ends with some behind the scenes recordings of the rapid development of the circuitry.
Cheers!
~Jason

Befaco FX BOY // Gameboy based Eurorack FX with CV controlled EQ, Drives, Modulation, Delay & more!
video upload by DivKid
"Eurorack FX in Gameboy style cartridges that are hot swappable into a module with CV controlled parameters and a four band fully CV controlled EQ … YES PLEASE, WHAT A CONCEPT!
Beyond the obvious nostalgia hit of the Gameboy cartridges I’ve long been a fan of swappable FX platforms that allow a module to be used in a wider range of patches. FX BOY comes with 7 ‘founders pack’ cartridges with the Making Sound Machines Analog Wavefolder, FEEDBACK modules Flanger, XOR Electronics Delay & Granular FX, Instruo microPhaser, Befaco TRASH distortion, TouellSkouarn Noise & Feedback Fuzz and Tesseract Modular AVMA downsampled & ring modulator. It’s a wide range of FX all with two CV controlled parameters, plus CV over dry wet for parallel blends and modulation.
In this video I chose to give each cartridge it’s own patch, letting them shine on different patches with different use cases, as that’s how I’ll end up using the module going forward. However each cartridge easily warrants it’s own demo video going through a range of patches as these circuits have proven to be great on a range of sources. So I’m already thinking about future videos … leave a comment about what you’d like to see more of.
FX BOY is an open source platform for people to develop their own cartridge circuit FX, so who knows where this will go, whether Befaco release more cards, companies sell them on their own or whether it spawns some interest DIY ideas along the way."

Befaco - FX Boy
video upload by Befacosynth
"A Multi FX module based on game carts!
FxBoy is a multi-FX module designed in collaboration with several talented manufacturers.
This is an effect unit with CV control over the parameters and Dry/wet control, with a Built-in CV controllable four bands EQ.
Each effect is physically hosted in a hot-swappable game cart and designed by a different manufacturer: Touell Skouarn with Skuara a harsh fuzz with overdrive, Instruo with micro Phaser, a two-flavoured Phaser, Feedback modules with a vintage Flanger, XOR with FX-Girl, a digital double effect module: Delay + Granularizer, Making sound machines with an analog Wave folder, Tesseract with a bit crusher and Befaco Trash distortion"

Superbooth 2023: Befaco - FXBOY
video upload by sonicstate
"At Superbooth 2023, we spoke to Diego from Befaco about their new FX module, FXBoy. This module allows users to change effects via cartridges, which are designed by different manufacturers. These cartridges can be easily swapped out to change the effect on the fly. The distortions are analog, but some digital options are available as well. Effects Boy will come with a bundle of cartridges, but more may be released in the future.
Befaco is also presenting their new case, a 7U case with multiple connections, including USB hosts, USB devices, and MIDI. The inputs and outputs are color-coded, and the case features a web editor to customize outputs to be gates, oscillators, envelopes, and more. Befaco is preparing a 1U version without a display and the cases will come with a lid cover and are expected to be available at the end of June.
Befaco hopes to have FXBoy available in a couple of months for under $400."

Befaco Introduces the Fx Boy CV Controllable EQ Eurorack Module
via Befaco

Fx Boy is a 12 HP multi FX module with CV controllable EQ and Dry wet, with the peculiarity that each FX is built into a Gameboy cart! Yes, you read right, a Gameboy cart!!
And this is not just it, we have gathered a group of fellow Eurorack manufacturers to design a cart. So we will have 6 carts included in the module from: Feedback modules, Making sound Machines, Tesseract, Touel Skouarn, XOR electronics and Befaco!
It has been a great pleasure and BIG FUN to collaborate with these mega talented designers in these projects! You can expect old fashioned flangers, aggressive folders, dirty bitcrushers, fuzz galore and trashy distortions!
Module will be released in summer 2023 both assembled and DIY and pricing is still to be decided."
