"In this episode we explore how to work with sequence pages, pattern length, looping, and editing tools in the OXI sequencer.

First, we look at pages. OXI One MKII organizes sequences into 8 pages of 16 steps, giving you up to 128 steps per pattern. You’ll learn how to navigate between pages, add full pages to a sequence, copy and paste entire pages, and extend your pattern length by adding pages.

Next, we focus on patterns. We cover how to set start and end points, manage longer patterns while keeping full control of your workflow, and use the smart behavior that preserves sequence length when moving loop points. We will also duplicate patterns, and create temporary loops to focus on specific sections of your sequence.

Finally, we explore additional workflow tools, including selecting and editing groups of steps, tie notes across pages, and use the Follow function to keep the view synced with the transport while playing longer patterns. We also look at the Preview function in Mono, Poly, Multitrack, and Chord modes to hear notes, root tones, and chord variations while composing.

"On March 27, 2025, we welcomed the creators of OXI Instruments for a packed and inspiring evening. The event featured the unveiling of the OXI One MKII, the next-generation performance sequencer, and showcased the Coral, their powerful modular mini-polysynth.

Guests were treated to an in-depth look at the updated OXI One, which builds on the original’s success with expanded sequencing capabilities, improved workflow features, a larger OLED screen, and even more generative and performance tools. The Coral module also impressed with its compact design, full polyphony, and diverse synthesis engines.

After the presentations, visitors had the opportunity to get hands-on with the gear, speak directly with the developers, and enjoy a relaxed evening of music technology exploration. The event took place in our showroom in Berlin-Neukölln and drew a strong crowd of curious synth enthusiasts."

OXI CORAL FW 2.0 Tutorial - How to Use the New ACID Engine

"The upgraded ACID engine is included in the CORAL 2.0 release, out now!

This is our take on the 303-style synth: a variable-shape virtual analog oscillator that seamlessly morphs from the classic Saw to Square and Pulse waveforms with dynamic PWM capabilities. There is one post-filter distortion and the edgy filter has been finely tuned for a gritty sound.
You can add accents via MIDI or via the AMP CV input. Morph controls the accent amount.

CONTROLS:
harm: controls the overdrive distortion
timbre: defines the oscillator waveform
morph: sets the accent amount

How to get glides?
- Use a pair of V/oct CV and Gate and send glides from your sequencer or change the pitch while gate is active. - If using MIDI, create a MONO (1-voice) part and send legato notes (almost overlapping notes should also be enough to trigger a glide).

How to get accents?
- You can feed CV modulation to any of these (for example, the Vel or Mod outputs of a sequencer). With MIDI, you can play with the velocity levels.

"In this patch Batumi is sending CV modulation to one of the Voices running the new 3VCO engine. One modulation to Harm input (frequency of the second oscillator with respect to the main one), the Morph input (frequency of the third oscillator) and Timbre (morphs from Triangle to Square waveforms).

The detuning controls (Harm and Morph) are finely calibrated to easily align with musical intervals

This was a happy accident since the modulation was meant for a different sound engine. It turned out pretty good.

The other voices are playing the bassline, kick, snare and hihats.

The upcoming Coral firmware includes a Delay FX, OXI One is modulating the send amount of the snare to the delay.

"We kick off 2024 with a new sound engine available for Coral ! 🪸🪸

3x variable-saw virtual analog oscillators that seamlessly morphs from Triangle to Square waveforms with dynamic PWM capabilities. 2 of the 3 oscillators can be detuned in relation to the main oscillator.

The detuning controls (Harm and Morph) are finely calibrated to easily align with musical intervals, such as +7 and +12 semitones. This feature facilitates the creation of musically coherent detuning effects, while still providing the flexibility to detune by a few cents."
