macumbista Spring SoundBoxes 2013

via macumbista where you'll find more pics.
"The Spring SoundBoxes are small, portable and battery-powered electro-acoustic instruments. They can create a variety of drone and reverb-type sounds through feedback between a small speaker and a resonant piezo-electric microphone, as seen in this video [previously posted here]. Or they can bring out the hidden sounds within found objects as seen in this video [previously posted here].
These SoundBoxes are unique, handmade works of sonic art, made from German cigar boxes dating from the 1930′s to the 1960′s, and feature 92mm black speakers, a resonant-spring contact mic, a line-out for recording and “circuit-bending” body contacts. They can also simply be used as cigar-box amplifiers for whatever other electronic instruments you might have.
Each of these SoundBoxes can be purchased for EUR 83 (EU) / EUR 69.75 (ex-EU) plus postage costs. Please include the number in the edition which interests you. This is the first ten of an edition of thirty this season. Contact “macumbista” AT_THE_DOMAIN “gmail.com”.
The next SoundBoxes in this edition will feature a smaller, backlit 77mm transparent speaker with artwork inside the boxes, and will be announced in the coming week. Thank you for your kind attention..."

Update: Re-Published on Jun 10, 2013 exclusivevids1000
Update: video re-posted here.
"Taken from their 1979 album Replicas. This take however,is never used for broadcasting, i think i know why, this take they did more for fun....., still one of my favorite songs of All-time ...., but that remines me of a question, and maby one of the Gary Numans die-hard fans knows the answer ..,In my memory , i thought i have seen about 33 years ago , a kind of promo of this golden classic, but i am sure that i did see Gary Numan with hair coloured white, does anyone know if some kind of old video exist anywhere ?
Personnel
Gary Numan -- Minimoog synthesizer, guitar, vocals
Paul Gardiner -- bass guitar
Jess Lidyard -- drums
Ced Sharpley & Gary Webb

"The Syntecno T303 TeeBee rackmount analog synth brings back the sound of classic pre-MIDI synths in a modernized package. This unit gives you the fat early synth bassline sounds of the Roland TB303, but without the price associated with that vintage unit. The T303 features a monophonic bass synthesizer, 4-channel MIDI-to-CV convertor, five rotary controls which can act as MIDI controllers, a simple real-time sequencer, and a built-in auto-wah filter..."

EMS 1975 SYNTHI-E ANALOGUE SYNTHESIZER
Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.

via this auction
"Designed by Tim Orr for 'EMS', this remarkable D-battery powered synthesizer comes in its original briefcase format. Most experts approximate that less than 200 of these units were made, largely for educational institutions.
Case measures 18" wide x 14" tall x 5" deep (approx. 45.5cm x 35.5cm x 12.5cm).
It's not our area of expertise, but here are the features we've managed to identify:
*Input Amplifier with low (Microphone) and high (line) level inputs.
*Envelope Follower, providing a voltage proportional to the amplitude of the input.
*Oscillator 1, with true exponential voltage control of frequency and three simultaneous output waveforms (sine, triangle and voltage controlled pulse).
*Oscillator 2 for slow control voltages such as glissando or vibrato.
*Filter/Oscillator 3, with v.c. low, high and band pass filter or pure sine wave.
*A Modulator for envelope shaping or ring modulation.
*A Noise Generator.
*Trapezoid Generator, for multiple simultaneous trapezoid waveforms. These may be used for envelope shaping (trigger mode) or for low frequency waveforms (free run mode).
*Manual-Slide tape Controllers (x2), for obtaining control voltages. One slide-tape is stepped and looks to be used as a keyboard, and the other for variable control. One is said to provide a trigger pulse.
*An Inverter to invert control voltages or signals.
*A Monitor Amplifier and Loudspeaker, with two input mixer faders.
Comes 10 original patch cables and a 1/4" jack plug. Also presented with its original lock key..."
