Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata, Adagio sostenuto [piano + synth]

Published on Nov 10, 2012 Didlybom·32 videos

"Beethoven - Piano Sonata No.14 in C sharp minor 'Moonlight Sonata' Op.27 No.2, Movement I: Adagio sostenuto (1801)

Adding a lot of reverb and dark synth pads to this piece, making it sound a little bit like something out of Vangelis' Blade Runner soundtrack. I'm playing it too fast.

The instrument is a Nord Stage 2 using a sampled Steinway Model D grand piano, some virtual analog synthesizer, and an enormous amount of reverb.

Rare Modded 1970s Mego Muson Synthesizer with Original Box SN 00357

via this auction

"This is an auction for a rare Mego Muson synthesizer from the 1970s. It is in working condition with original box. I modified this unit several years ago by adding a small volume pot on the side and a 1/4" jack on the back to facilitate better recording of this unit (see photo). When a cord is plugged into the back the speaker is bypassed and the pot scales the output volume. When there is no cord plugged in the sound comes out the speaker and the pot scales the volume.

The unit is in really good shape as you can see in the photos. There is some slight curling on the very edges of the stickers and the foam in the battery compartment is no longer spongy and is a little browned. I have a little folded piece of paper towel in there that I put over the batteries to keep them snug in the compartment like the foam used to.

Also included is a non-original black hard case that works perfectly for transporting the unit (see photo). I will ship the Muson inside the black case with that inside a cardboard box with appropriate padding. The original box I will flatten and put in that same cardboard box. The original box is in ok shape but there is some discoloring and one of the inside flaps has come off completely (see photos).

The serial number sticker fell off but it will be included in this auction (see photo - it used to be on the bottom of the unit)..."

VOICE EXPANSION for the Clavia Nord Lead

via this auction

"There are some people out there that only have 4 voices in their Nord. I can only imagine. That's just a single layer away from duo-phonic (not what Clavia had intended for performance bank use)... It was pulled from a working Nord in our studio. 100% functioning. A rare find on eBay, mint, at half the price of retail.

* Note * - This is for a Nord lead 1 only and will not work with a Nord lead 2 or 3.
This item is only if your Nord 1 is un-expanded with only 4 voices. This expansion will add 8 additional voices (bringing the total to 12 voices). A Nord lead that is already expanded will have a black PCMCIA card eject button sticking out of the side of the opening in back. Nords that already have the expansion installed will also display an 'E' during start-up. This will not be able to add voices to Nord 1 synths that already have the expansion installed in them, so please be certain. Installation: to be performed by someone who has experience with ESD safe practice, such as with PC upgrading work"

EML ElectroComp 101

via this auction

According to the listing, this one's been updated for 1volt per octave to support integration with most modern modular systems.

"EML 101 which was serviced 3 months ago by Ed Miller of Synthesizer Repair here in Los Angeles. The synth works and sounds incredible. It's one of the sickest and nastiest sounding analogs ever made. It does not disappoint anyone who uses it. I just gave the 101 a full test drive and it is 100% fully functional. The item is used and is being sold as is. There is some cosmetic wear and tear on the case as you can see, since it's over 30 years old. I've keep the synth in pristine condition, and pampered it as much as possible. I've owned the unit for over 10 years now and when I purchased it, some of the plastic knobs are not original. This didn't bother me, but I wanted to mention it. The 101 has been set to a 1volt per octave standard, instead of the original 1.2 volts per octave. This allows you to use it with other analog gear / CV converters. . Also, there is an common internal modification on the 101. That the gate input triggers both envelope generators, not just #1. This allows for greater flexibility when sequencing.."
