Sonicstate Exclusive: Roland FA-06 preview
Published on Jan 15, 2014 sonicstate·594 videos
"Roland popped down a couple of days ago to give us the skinny on a new product which was released today. Taking the legacy of the Fantom workstations and combining the pallette of the sonically stuffed Integra-7 sound module, and performance chops from the recent Junos and Jupiters, plus a large colour display, the FA06 and FA08 (88 weighted keys) are Roland's new take on the keyboard workstation.
With 128 voice polyphony, 16 part sequencer (each with dedicated FX plus a total FX), it's got enough voices to handle some complex productions.
The all new (ground up design) sequencer integrates with the on-board sampler to create a flexible workflow as far as we can see."

3 synced drum machines (TR-77, KPR-77, CR-8000) with Evolver and Seiko DS-250
Published on Jan 14, 2014
"I modified the Roland TR-77V and built a circuit for the Dave Smith Instruments Evolver so that they can be clocked by trigger signals. More here: http://acreil.wordpress.com/2014/01/1...
The Roland CR-8000 (hi-hat, handclap) is slaved to the Korg KPR-77 (bass, snare, hi-hat) via DIN sync. One KPR-77 trigger output clocks the TR-77 (miscellaneous patterns with spring reverb) in an irregular pattern, while the other is connected to the "register" input on the CR-8000 (switching between two different patterns). The CR-8000's accent trigger output clocks the Evolver (with Ibanez SDR-1000 reverb). I added two overdubs with the Seiko DS-250, processed by the SDR-1000 and Yamaha FX900. Recorded 2013."
