"Alle Sounds wurden aus dem OMB-5 direkt in die Kamera eingespielt (ohne Effekte etc). Deshalb leider ziemlich verzerrt. Ein Midisequenz aus Ableton "spielt" die Melodie, das Tempo kommt vom OMB-5 per Midi out. Alle Sounds, Beats etc. macht der OMB-5."

Microbe Modular Equation Composer - 3 Oscillator Synth & formant synth "mumbler" Modes

Published on Jul 8, 2014 clone45a6

"Demonstration of the 3 Oscillator Synth program for the Equation Composer. This program is a new addition to the factory programs contributed by Gaétan Ro. See http://www.microbemodular.com/product... details."

"Synth3Osc is a 3 osc synth with 2 main oscillators which can be detuned a sub oscillator, and a low-pass filter.

The MOD input controls the oscillator configuration. There are 16 configurations. For example, the first 4 configurations are:

MOD osc1 osc2 sub osc
0 sine sine sine (50% vol)
1 sine sawtooth sine (50% vol)
2 sawtooth sawtooth sine (50% vol)
3 sawtooth square sine (50% vol)

Param1 is the detuning between the first 2 oscillators. In the middle of the potentiometer there is no detune, in the far right, the second oscillator is a quarter tone higher, and far left is a quarter tone lower.

Param2 is the cutoff for the lowpass filter

Param3 is the resonance for the lowpass filter

Input Summary:

SR: Sample Rate
MOD: Selects the oscillator configuraton
[1] Detune
[2] Lowpass Cutoff
[3] Lowpass Resonance
GATE: not used"

"Mumbler is a Formant Synthesizer with a built-in lowpass filter that makes sounds similar to vowel sounds.

Input Summary:

SR: Sample Rate (pitch)
MOD: Formant Scale
[1]: Formant Phase #1
[2]: Lowpass Resonance Cutoff
[3]: Lowpass Filter Cutoff
GATE: Trigger input - rotates Format Phase values"

Preset Editing on the KORG PS3200

via Tom J Carpenter of Analogue Solutions on Facebook: "One little known thing about this synth is most of the knobs have built in pull switches enabling you to edit your presets"

According to another comment in that thread: "There is a flaw in the design though. You can edit your patch, but if you try and save it, it records ALL the current knob positions and not just the ones you have tweaked, thus erasing your patch."

The PS3200 came out in 1978.  If you are curious what was the first programmable synth with editable patch memories, see this post. Update: added another early programmable preset synth to that post, the ASE MCS-70.

Korg littleBits Test (Poor Man's Buchla Bounce)

Published on Jun 21, 2014 GenshiMediaGroup

"Another quick test of the littleBits Korg Synth Kit. This is a simple attempt at getting that "Buchla Bounce" sound out of the littleBits Korg Synth Kit.

I was able to accomplish this "poor man's Buchla" by glitching the littleBits through the way I had the signal chain structured; with the balance of the Mix of the two Oscillators (Mix/Osc 1 needs to be half the volume of Mix/Osc 2) and the Envelope's short Decay, as well as the relationship of the Filter's Cutoff and Peak knobs (both at about half way) as they are modulated by the Sequenced Random bit.

I also discovered that if you touch the "Trigger In" of the Envelope with your finger, you can modulate the sound further (as long as there is also a cable in the Speaker's Output jack) by opening up the Decay each time you touch the connector.

Diagram of the signal chain is shown at the end of the video."

MODULAR SYNTH JAM #9 - Volca Beats & Modular

Published on Jul 8, 2014 DivKidMusic

"Here's my latest Synth Jam video. Simple little modular riff going with the Korg Volca Beats in sync. It all hooks up nicely and I had some fun with some manual wiggling with the patch.

As always feel free to ask questions and like/subscribe to support my channel and more videos coming each week."
