"Included in this auction:
1) Emu Sp1200 drum machine in excellent condition, 100% functional. All buttons & pads trigger, all outputs functioning, it sounds great. Backlight is bright & easy to read. Cosmetically in great shape, very clean. See pics below.
2) 45 discs of sounds, including:
- 20 discs with samples from Original Sp1200 sounds (see below for complete list)
- 20 discs with original Northstar productions sounds (see below for complete list)
- 5 samples discs of Roland TR909, TR808 & TR606, Acidlab Miami, Jomox Xbase 888 sampled direct from the machines
3) 15 blank discs for using to create new sounds
4) This machine is a reissue but still a Model 7030 so it has the SSM filters plus no power supply issues, it will run smooth and not get hot.
5) Includes a spare drive. The spare is tested & working except the eject button doesn't pop out the discs too well.
Everything including the machine and all the discs have been TESTED & are WORKING as described. This machine and set up is in great shape, lightly used and ready to make beats in YOUR STUDIO.

"The VFX/SD series is one of the most important synth series ever created. The VFX combined "ahead of its time"-sounds and technology and the performance aspect of the VFX's was (is, almost!) second-to-none. With addition of a very intuitive Performance/Sequencer-mode with the SD models, arguably, they are one of the finest hardware sequencers ever produced in a synth.
At the time, the market was flooded with cheaper $2000-and-under synthesizers. The Ensoniq Corporation, an American company created by computer programers and chip designers wanted to put out a keyboard with all the bells and whistles with no expense spared.
The VFX is a true synthesizer, not just a reprogrammed keyboard that plays sampled sounds or a simple workstation, and with the addition of the sequence-able SD models made them the very first true marketed Music Production Synthesizers.
