In-Line Effects DrumFire DF500 Analog Drum Synthesizer
Note: links to listings are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated.
via this auction
The Drumfire DF-500 is a 5 channel drum synth module.
The 5 channels are identical, with their own Trigger-In and Audio Out sockets.
Each channel is a mini analogue synth drum module, capable of producing a wide range of electronic drum sounds, and since every parameter is defined by a knob, it's highly tweakable.
The 5 drum channels also have their own level and pan pots, and the signals are mixed to a pair of stereo outputs with Left/Right volume control.
Each channel has 9 controls (8 knobs & 1 switch):
SENSITIVITY controls pickup/trigger in sensitivity
OSCILLATOR DECAY controls decay time of the synth oscillator
NOISE DECAY controls decay time of the noise sound
SWEEP alters oscillator frequency
CLICK (Switch) adds a click (trigger) sound to the attack
PITCH changes oscillator pitch
BALANCE controls balance between oscillator/noise
VOLUME output volume to mixer
PAN L/R balance control, also allow dual output on L/R jacks
Since it has individual audio outputs, the out could be patch back/daisy chain to the next channel's trigger input, so cascading up to a 5 oscillator synth drum sound!
Drumfire is the name of the module, but not a lot of people really know the manufacturer's name. It just sayIn-Line Effects at the bottom. No logo.
From a post in Hyperreal Music Machine, it's made by Music People Inc. in the USA."

Dave Smith Instruments DSM01 Curtis Filter Module Now Shipping!
"Dave Smith Instruments Ships DSM01 Curtis Filter Module
Acclaimed Synth Designer’s First-Ever Product for Modular Systems Now Available
San Francisco, CA—August 28, 2014—Dave Smith Instruments today began shipping the DSM01 Curtis Filter module, their first product for modular synthesizers. The module takes its name from the filter chip originally designed by the late Doug Curtis, which has been an integral part of the sound of Dave Smith’s instruments from the classic Sequential Circuits Prophet-5, all the way up to recent synths such as the Evolver, Mopho, Prophet ΚΌ08, and Prophet 12.
The DSM01 features a switchable 2/4-pole, resonant low-pass filter, as well as its own VCA. It is a standard 8HP wide, Eurorack-format device with interconnections made using 3.5 mm phone jacks. A carefully designed set of inputs and parameters allows voltage control of filter frequency and resonance. Filter slope is selectable between -12 dB and -24 dB. The module’s VCA features two separate outputs for the filter—one pre-VCA and the other, post-VCA. A unique feature of the filter is a Boost function that introduces harmonic distortion into the signal for more aggressive coloration.
“Having the widest tonal palette possible has always been the goal for modular users,” said Smith. “This product is our first—but significant—contribution to that world. We wanted to give modular users easy, affordable access to the classic Curtis filter sound, which I’ve always found very versatile and expressive.” The Curtis sound has often been described as saturated, brash, and powerful, and has also been fundamental to such vintage instruments as the Oberheim Xpander, Rhodes Chroma and Polaris, and Elka Synthex.
“The DSM01 packs a lot of sound-shaping power into a small package. We think modular users are going to get a lot of sonic mileage out of it,” said Smith.
The DSM01 Curtis Filter module is available now with a MAP of $179."

" Here is a single one pass patch , just the Easel you hear no effects , changes are subtle so headphones recommended. Made using Ableton Live with Kirnu Cream VST Arpeggiator sending MIDI to Easel."

"Though a low-res-shot-from-the-hip type production, hopefully you’ll be able to glean a few useful nuggets, tips or tricks. Everything here for the newbie to intermediate Easel iProgram Card and App user. Apologies for the poor audio quality the focus is more on information than sound at this point. "Tree" a live Hardware MIDI Improvisation By MyOneManBand
Published on Aug 28, 2014 phillwilson
"Sorry I have been away for a while, I have a stack of new uploads to get through starting with this one.
Emu Command Station is providing the MIDI sequencer for recording the live MIDI, the Korg ESX is providing the drums and two Kaoss Pads are adding in the FX."
via Phill Wilson on The MATRIXSYNTH Lounge
"all melodic synth sounds ( lead synth and bass notes ) were played in realtime record straight into the EMU, I have the Composer/keys/mo phatt/orbital roms).
The korg Microstation is set a controller into the Emu and then ch8 is looped back to the Microstation for it to act as a sound module for the harp patch."

Control sheet below.
"These are hard to find as they don't make full versions anymore. One of the little feet fell off but everything works great. This is one of the coolest music makers I've ever used. Only selling because I need money. This auction includes what you see in the photos. Everything is in perfect working order. I'm not entirely sure if this is v1 or v2 but I'm guessing that it's v1 since I bought it when it first came out.
A drone is created by slightly de-tuning 2 oscillators. This creates a rhythmic phase canceling effect as the output waves line up and diverge. The density of the drone can be increased by adding more oscillators tuned by harmonic steps above or below the other oscillators.
The Drone Lab is engineered to allow for the creation of dense, pulsing drones. A series of filters and a distortion circuit have been built in to add more depth and variation to the drone.
