Dreadbox Erebus - Tidbits and Tips for Patching the Erebus Synth
Published on Apr 5, 2015 ProckGnosis
"Just four basic patching examples on the Dreadbox Erebus Synth Module. As mentioned in the video, though having some experience programming synths, I'm fairly new to working with physical patch cables.
For me, there is a nice immediacy felt with working with patch cables versus a digital modulation matrix with menus you have to dig through just to decide what source is modulating what destination. With real patch cables and a semi-modular synth, adventurous exploring is much more promptly rewarded, though the problem can be trying to go BACK to some really cool sound you did an hour earlier, but can't remember how.
Cheers!"

"Roland's second analog monosynth from the early 1970s. It's pretty much like it's predecessor, the SH 1000 with fewer controllable parameters and more reliance on preset sounds and more expressive control because of its aftertouch, routable to several parameters like volume, Wow, Growl, Vibrato, and Pitch Bend.
This unit is the more sought after earlier version (serial # 505696) with the Moog type ladder filter. (Units from serial # 578050 onward had a different filter.)
You will see from the photos that it has minimal cosmetic flaws, and overall it is in pretty fine shape for a synth that is over 40 years old.
All controls are functional: All sliders, switches, knobs and keys work smoothly and without a crackle. All presets work; there are two tabs that have broken off but they can still easily be switched on and off by pushing upward or downward on them. Replacement tabs can be gotten on ebay quite cheaply at the moment. The power cord is a bit frayed where it comes out of the back of the unit, but it still seems well attached and doesn't affect the functionality of the unit. There is a faint tone pitched several octaves above the note being played which sometimes can be noticed."
